Gaëtan De Baene and Daan Vandenberghe participate together to COP29 in Baku, in Azerbaijan.
Their mission? To carry the voice of young people from Belgium to the policymakers attending this international summit about climate.
Gaëtan is the United Nations Climate Youth Delegate for the French Community of Belgium. He was elected for this 2 years mandate at the Forum des Jeunes. He studied Geography at ULB and Bioengineering at ULiège - Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech. Before being a delegate, he advocated on many topics with youth from all over Europe on fair trade, the "global, fair and ecological transition" and nature restoration.
Daan was similarly elected to be the United Nation Youth Delegate for sustainable development for the Dutch Community of Belgium, at the Vlaamse Jeugdraad. He studies geography at the VUB and works for the GreenTeam of his university.
During this webinar, they share with us their experience at COP29. How did they feel? Did they manage to discuss to important decisionmakers ? How did they prepare their messages before the COP ? How do they see the next steps of their commitment as Youth Delegate?
