A pioneering campus-based initiative!
Faced with the urgent challenges of the early 21st century, UNI for Change is a dynamic that starts on campus and aims to massively rally communities around positive-impact actions for social and environmental transition.

"To be a driving force to massively mobilize students and staff members of higher education institutions to accelerate the installation of a culture of sustainability from campuses."

Mass mobilization through concrete actions and multiple partnerships
UNI for Change mobilizes large numbers of communities in Belgium and elsewhere in the world through the sharing of synthetic awareness-raising tools and the rapid organization of twinned concrete actions on our various campuses. Initiated by the Green Office of the University of Liège (Belgium), UNI for Change today brings together a diverse consortium of committed partners!
Mobilizing 254 million students through their campuses to boost global transition !
Our actions and commitment are based on five core values: Together, Creativity, Expertise, Enthusiasm and Commitment
Defined with our partners in the UNI for Change consortium, these values guide our interactions and projects, both between consortium members and with our target audience: students in higher education institutions.
Together: Acting collectively for lasting change
We believe in the power of collective action to accelerate social and environmental transition. That's why we emphasize cooperation and collective intelligence through :
- Exchanges of best practices and support between SD coordinators via the Forum, meetings and get-togethers.
- A collaborative dynamic, where everyone makes their own contribution without any competitive spirit.
- A unique platform for students and staff (teachers, SD coordinators, etc.) to co-create and participate in activities.
- Alliances with associations, NGOs, companies, political institutions and the media to amplify our impact.
- Free and open participation, where everyone moves at their own pace, without fear of judgment.
Creativity: Innovating to build a sustainable future
Social innovation is at the heart of our approach. We encourage creativity in all its forms to develop impactful actions:
- Bringing together ideas, tools and people to imagine new solutions.
- Inviting teachers and students to co-create challenges, awareness-raising brochures, events and more.
- Inspiration by example, with creative projects shared via the UNI for Change application.
- A forward-looking vision to inspire everyone to become an agent of change.
Expertise: guaranteeing action based on sound knowledge
Our approach is based on validated scientific resources and rigorous popularization of the issues at stake:
- Scientific legitimacy guaranteed by content validation.
- A clear explanation of the impact of our actions, placing them in a global context.
- A transdisciplinary approach that crosses viewpoints and promotes a broader understanding of issues.
- Collaboration with experts to enrich the project dynamic.
Enthusiasm: Inspiring and mobilizing positively
We believe in the power of enthusiasm to inspire people to action. This translates into :
- The pleasure of co-creation and the celebration of collective success.
- An infectious optimism that motivates people to get involved.
- The organization of fun, engaging and meaningful events.
- Attractive and varied content to maintain interest and commitment.
- Challenges that stimulate motivation, while remaining accessible and progressive.
Commitment: Moving from intention to action
Commitment is at the heart of UNI for Change. We give everyone the means to get involved at different levels:
- A focus on the number of participants in activities, to encourage collective emulation.
- Active participation via the UNI for Change forum, meetings and events.
- The creation and animation of communities ("bubbles") within the establishments.
- Promotion of the UNI for Change dynamic to national and international partners.
UNI for Change's DNA is based on several pillars:
Action-oriented, scientifically validated awareness-raising
Practical, fun awareness-raising
We use interactive and engaging formats to ensure that knowledge is taken on board in a practical way:
- Brochures
- Video clips
- Posters
- Films
- ...
The aim is to make learning dynamic and motivating.
And concrete, supported actions with impact
Commitment is not limited to raising awareness. We support each member of the community in taking action through :
- Challenges (mobility, consumption, food, etc.)
- Field activities
- Solidarity activities
- Highlighting concrete impact projects
Each initiative is designed to be accessible, measurable and conducive to concrete change.
Committed communities united on one platform
The UNI for Change application brings together members of organizations committed to sustainability into a large community that mobilizes to act. It also provides access to a wide range oftools and and shared contentto boost participation.
Each community benefits from a dedicated bubble where it can share its actions, resources and successes, reinforcing the collective dynamic.

Quick and easy co-construction of course content
The involvement of teachers and students is essential if sustainability is to be integrated into all areas of study. UNI for Change facilitates the rapid, collaborative integration of content relating to environmental and social issues into academic curricula.
With UNI for Change, teachers can integrate sustainability into their courses in a number of ways:
- Using content (each teacher chooses the relevant didactic brochures/challenges in relation to his or her course)
- Content adaptation (students adapt the teaching brochures/challenges as part of their course)
- Co-creation of content (students co-construct new challenges/didactic brochures as part of their courses)
A strategy to support widespread mobilization
To bring communities together and get them moving, UNI for Change relies on a 6-pillar strategy.

- Twinning: events and activities offered at the same time in different locations to increase impact and generate excitement.
- An application to bring together committed communities and measure the impact of their actions.
- A toolbox: to share turnkey content for the rapid organization of events and activities, as well as instruction sheets. The contents of the toolbox are co-constructed by all partners.
- Belgian and international networks for wider dissemination of UNI for Change.
- Opportunities for resources and visibility through participation in calls for projects, competitions and conferences in Belgium and abroad.
- Local or internationalevents that put social and environmental transition at the heart of public debate (e.g. COP, World Climate Day, etc.) used as a focal point for program activities.
